An estimated $3 billion of future US travel business is negotiated during the five-day marketplace. International Pow Wow is the largest travel show in the US and the largest show promoting US travel in the world.
The International Pow Wow will attract destinations and travel companies from every state and territory in the U.S.
TIA research estimates that, as the host city, LA will realize an estimated $300 million in international travel business over the two-four years following Pow Wow 2004. For every dollar spent on hosting International POW Wow, LA will realize $107 in return.
Recovery of the international travel market post 9/11 is expected to occur in 2005. Pow Wow 2004 will be selling 2005 product, giving LA as an international destination the advantage of timing and location in this recovery which will be a strong engine for the local tourism and hospitality industry--the number-two employer in the LA economy.
With LA neighborhood tours, media events, and evening functions International POW WOW presents a means to showcase new LA product to buyers and media including Walt Disney Concert Hall, Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral, MTA Red and Gold Lines; Staples Center, Hollywood and Highland, the World Cruise Center, the revitalization of Downtown and Hollywood - none of which was in place when LA last hosted POW WOW in 1996.
